Dimitar Petrov

I am a photographer because I want to create something that will be seen. I was born on the 30th of January, 1956, in the city of Varna, Bulgaria. In 1984 I was ranked ' Artist Photographer' – the highest rank given to photographers in Bulgaria. In the same year I had my first one-man exhibitions in several towns in the country. My photographs have been accepted in a number of International Photo Salons in Europe, North and South America. My first one-man exhibition abroad was in 1995. Since 1994 I work mainly in the genre of Nude Photography. Most of my photographs are born in my head. ' Made up' is not the best word to describe them. I’d rather say I recreate situations I have already seen, herd or read about.
